The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus: First Journey with Reindeer
by Baum, Lyman Frank. Illustrated by Mary Cowles Clark

American author, actor and independent filmmaker Lyman Frank Baum (1856-1919) is best known as the co-creator of The Wizard of Oz. However, he also wrote the 1902 children’s book, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, in which Baum told the story of this Northern gent who lives in the Laughing Valley of Hohaho and uses 10 leaping reindeer as his means for travel when delivering toys to children. This card shows the image of Santa Claus and his flying sled.
